'SPRINGBOARD ART FAIR'

For me, it is absolutely clear: art cannot exist without marketing. Indeed: for me, marketing itself is art. 
I investigate how I can use the marketing of big brands like Prada and Gucci to get attention for my work. With this in mind, I have chosen to profile myself from a brand name: Aesthetic Studios. This allows me to create more distance and volume, drawing attention to the wondrous power of marketing.

Last year, I made many installations, researched a lot and participated in several events. Conclusion is that I work as a visual artist in Aesthetic Studios, but I also have a product line out there now more so that I can financially support my artistic practice. So that question now is; What does Aesthetic Studios represent as a brand if I don't show products from the Aesthetic Studios collection?

At this brandstore 2.0, everything is there to be a shop except the product. So there is nothing for sale. What are you looking at as a visitor? Does the branding stand out, do you think the mirror is for sale or do you immediately notice the concept?

From 8 to 11 June, a one-time-only, experimental art fair will take place in Utrecht’s Werkspoorkathedraal. During Springboard Art Fair, more than 100 artists who graduated during the corona period (2019-2021) will have the opportunity to profile themselves and sell their work. Alumni from almost all Dutch art academies come together for a large group event. The artists present their own work, which varies from painting and photography to multimedia and installations. The fair is the perfect opportunity for the visitor to be the first to discover today’s greatest art talent.

This Art Foundation, the foundation that annually organises This Art Fair, responds to a special call from the Mondriaan Fund and the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund with this fair. They found that the newest generation of artists finds it very difficult to connect to the art market. Springboard Art Fair now gives these artists the stage they deserve.
